The presence of evil in a society is an indication of an inefficient and unfocused leadership. A wrongful conduct of a civilian indicates lacuna in the focus and managerial ability of the leader. Duty of a leader is to enable people in the society fulfill their basic needs with ease & finesse; not in converting luxuries to necessities. An effective leader should address the needs of lower strata in society; to prevent social evil.
The greatest folly of mankind is the public demonstration of one's affluence. The social divide and the resultant intensification of ego are the prime causes for the proliferation of evil in a society. Intellectual development of people has resulted in accumulation of wealth, sacrificing subtle niceties of traditional values and customs.
Moderation is the link that connects the known materialistic worldly experience called Dwaitham and the unknown ultimate termed Adwaitham. The primary quality of the wise is to minimise materialistic comforts.
