Fear is a negative feeling; and hence a negative term. Fear is when, trust is missing. Along with trust; truth and the ability to remain true to purpose, is also lost. When one is not true to purpose; exhibits hypocrisy and deceit in thoughts, words and actions.
It is always safe for us to remain away from people who do not trust us. The substratum of any kind of relationship, even acquaintanceship between people; is built upon trust. Trust is an elementary component of life.
Trying to remain in contact with people who do not trust us is folly, absurd and sheer stupidity. People who do not trust us would only end up backstabbing though unintentionally because they do not trust us and are afraid of us. Hence an exposed and candid reaction can never be expected from them.
Claiming and encouraging the fear factor in people around us is not a merit rather a major setback in maintaining cordial relationship with anyone. People may be related to us by blood or traditional events; still as long as they are afraid of us; they just can’t be true to us. Not a point to blame; sheer inability!
Being surrounded by people, even relatives; who do not trust us would bestow a life of futility filled with deceit and pretence. When we begin searching truth around us; even a mere superficial search would result in withering away of attachment to relationships in life!
The cradle step in spirituality.
